Cadence's First Birthday! Part 2

Cadence had a train cake for his birthday.

It had a coal car, a log car, an animal car,
another animal car, and a pumpkin car.
He got to eat the little cake by himself!

He got books, movies, clothes, toys,

and everything else a little one-year-old boy could ask for!

Happy 1st Birthday Cadence!
We love you!

Cadence's First Birthday (Party)!

Today is Cadence's 1st birthday! His party was yesterday and it was a blast!

Cadence loved it when everyone sang to him!
He was timid at first...
But then he really got into it!
Our little Smurf boy!
He even licked his hands clean.

It's a boy!

Here are the first ultrasound pictures of Mason.

He hid his face from us for a minute and then gave us a view.
His nose looks like Cadence's nose!

Starting Out

Chase and I met at college and became friends. Really, I liked him and knew he was a serial dater so I avoided him like the plague. I would come home from class or working on a production and if he was there, I would walk straight to my room or back out the door. It made for an interesting and difficult process of getting to know each other.

He was sick of stupid girls and I was just trying to graduate so I could move home and help my mom out with her doctors appointments. There was no hope for anything to work out for us. It's funny how plans never work out the way you expect them to.

We started dating 2 weeks before I was going to move back in with my parents, 3 and 1/2 hours away from where we went to school. I really wanted it to work out, but knew that even with a little luck it would take a miracle for anything to come of this relationship.

Luckily, miracles weren't too far off.

We have been married for almost 2 and 1/2 years. We have one little boy named Cadence who can break through a vault in .02 seconds and climbs over everything with the ease of a little monkey. We also have another little boy on the way. He will most likely be given the name Mason unless he comes out looking like a Charlie...you never know!

So...this is our family and how we started out.
